Good morning Melbourne!
We fully support our driver friends at Scotrail because FUCK ISRAEL.

to all our US friends - well done, well done indeed. You stepped up and exceeded expectations. Up and down the tickets - winning House and Senate (enough there to tell Fetterman to fuck off). Winning state houses and governors - winning FUCKING TEXAS and KANSAS!!
But we still aren't buying US booze until you boot the orange idiot - Thankyou for voting, all of Canada

New bird unlocked! 😍 I spotted this lil one while I was trying to look for a magpie I could hear. It was near the window, at the literal minimum focus distance of my lens, 3.3 meters. I'm lucky I got any photo at all ☺️
🪿 Iberian Chiffchaff, ebird.org/species/ibechi2
Pale yellowish warbler, very similar to Common Chiffchaff. Best separated by consistently different song (slower than that of Common Chiffchaff, and often three-parted) and by call (often gives a falling “dwee” instead of a rising “weet”), but note y…ebird.org

Yesterday we went back to Mundesley to see the Nutcracker.
It was extremely windy due to storm Boelo but the sun was shining.

We weren’t going to go back after seeing such bad behaviour but yesterday it was being tagged in an open area of common land so there was a lot more space for everyone.
There were a lot more young birders there as well, it was great helping them out and seeing them getting their own photos of the Nutcracker!
@JimsPhotos morning fella, I understand and it’s made us think twice about seeing anything that rare that appears in Norfolk in future.
That’s a shame about the weather but I think it’s supposed to blow through about lunch time and turn to patchy sun.
If you get time, go to the beach at Cley. The Desert Wheatear thats been at the beach fence (52.964466, 1.053301) for a week or so is showing really well, he doesn’t care about people at all! I’ll post some pics later today.
Lula won!
We dodged a bullet!

It's possible but there were blushers around too and these were distinctly different with very little pink hues on the stems and none at all on the caps which were much more densely covered in warts. It's also possible they're Amanita excelsa, these also have striated collar and very pronounced warts. Either case, I'd rather err on the safe side with amanitas. 😉
FWIW the only amanita species that we collect are caesarea that I feel we can precisely identify even with individual specimen variation in mind. Others just aren't worth the risk for us because there's always plenty of other choice edible species around that we feel more comfortable with. Of course, all mushrooms are edible at least once 😄
Beautiful view of the ocean and sound of waves. Lots of cute little birds. Cleaning could be a bit better and not a fan of the central B&B style coffee/refrigerator/breakfast area instead of having stuff in your room. Pretty far to walk into town or anywhere so pretty much you're either on the property or have to drive somewhere. Not very private - people walking in front of the rooms/windows. #spain #basquecountry #openreviews #hotelreviews

I'm finding it very hard to tell the two apart, or possibly even a third type! 😅
